Anyone who has struggled to conceive a much-longed-for baby will know just how heart-breaking it is when you think all avenues are closed off – but the Quellhorsts’ story will remind you that there is always hope.

Jeremy and Tara Quellhorst have always wanted to have children, and were left devastated and ‘shocked’ when they discovered that they would not be able to conceive naturally.

In their journey to start a family, the couple tried out various fertility treatments and, in the end, went through all of their savings – with no results. With few options left, and no money, the Quellhorsts decided to appeal to the public for their help.

The couple created and shared an emotional video documenting their journey and their hopes to one day become parents, then posted it to a Go Fund Me page. Incredibly, the donations began pouring in, and two months later Jeremy and Tara had received $40,000 – enough to make a private adoption.

Commenting on the response to their plea, to ABC Action News, Jeremy said: “I was so amazed. It was so unbelievable. I don't even know what the words are.”

At the end of February, the couple held baby son Zeke for the first time, and got to bring him home to start their life together as a family.

The couple said they have decided to share their story in the hopes of inspiring other struggling couples to reach out to their communities for help and support.
