You can imagine the horror and outrage of this American father then, after catching day care staff abusing his daughter.
Cameras set up on a high-rise above the Apple Montessori School in Hoboken captured footage of carers forcefully handling at least three toddlers, with the videos later released to the public.
Dad Brett Stenhouse was shocked to see that his own young daughter was at the centre of the abuse, as he watched her being forced to the ground and repeatedly lifted up.
In a report filed by the Stenhouses, they claimed that the child was left shaken after having her head “jerked around”. They also claim that she was limping when she eventually managed to pick herself up from the ground.
“I was absolutely furious, as you can imagine. It was absolutely disgusting and disgraceful the way they’ve treated our child and the other children,” Mr Stenhouse told news.com.au.
Another video showed a carer restraining a child by holding her legs in the air before lifting her over a fence and dragging her back inside.
Five employees at the Montessori – including the branch director and assistant director – have been fired since the footage was released.
