It has been reported that ABBA is releasing new music for the first time in 35 years!

Posting to Instagram, the 70s pop band said in a statement that:

"The decision to go ahead with the exciting ABBA avatar tour project had an unexpected consequence.

"We all four felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did. And it was like time had stood still and that we had only been away on a short holiday. An extremely joyful experience!"

The post to their official Instagram page said that we can expect two new songs from the group, and despite the years passing they feel like their new song is fresh and current.

"It resulted in two new songs and one of them 'I Still Have Fair In You' will be performed by our digital selves in a TV special produced by NBC and the BBC aimed for broadcasting in December.

"We may have come of age, but the song is new. And it feels good.

Just to make the post even more official the group signed off the post with their names and the date: “Agnetha, Benny, Bjorn, Anni-Frid - Stockholm, Sweden, 27 April 2018."

In a press release, the band's manager Gorel Hanser has also confirmed the news.

On Wednesday, in Brussels during a speech, singer Bjorn Ulvaeus, 72, revealed that a digital tour is expected in 2019 or 2020, in which "Abbatars" are being design to embody the four member of the iconic pop group.

ABBA have sold more than 400 million albums and have not performed in public since 1986.
