When Glenn Buratti's mum invited her son's entire class to his 6th birthday party, she expected at least one of the children would show up to help celebrate her little boy's big day.

Despite not having received a single RSVP from the children's parents, devoted mum Ashlee refused to give up hope that her son would experience a happy day.

When Ashlee realised none of Glenn's classmates had accepted the invitation, Ashlee was forced to break the news to her little boy who suffers from autism.

Recalling the moment she had to admit that arrangements hadn't gone to plan, Ashley said Glenn's expression 'killed her on the inside.'

Taking to the internet to vent, the devastated mum opened up about her upset, writing: "I know this might be something silly to rant about, but my heart is breaking for my son. We invited his whole class (16 kids) over for his 6th birthday party. Not one kid came."

Not expecting much after posting to Osceola Rants, Raves & Reviews List on Facebook, Ashlee and her little boy were overwhelmed by the response of local people.

Touched by Glenn's story, members of the public turned up in their droves to help celebrate Glenn's big day. According to the Osceola News- Gazette, Ashlee and her son were visited by approximately 40 people who wanted to wish the little boy a happy birthday and offer a gift to mark the special day.

Little Glenn had his photo taken, was given a ride in a fire truck and is now the proud owner of a brand new bike gifted by a woman who was moved by the little boy's story.

Commenting on the public's response to her son's upset, Ashlee said: "The amazingness of everybody coming together for someone that they didn't even know, a kid that didn't have anybody come to his party- it warmed my heart."

Happy birthday to the lovely Glenn!
