According to reports emerging from the States, a 54-year-old man has died after the plane he was piloting over his daughter's wedding reception at the weekend crashed.


According to the New York Post, the incident, which occurred on Sunday evening, saw the landing gears of the man's Cessna 206 strike trees approximately 120 miles north of Anchorage.


It is understood that an investigator from the National Transportation Safety Board travelled to the crash site in Trapper Creek yesterday afternoon, but no further details have yet been released.


According to State Troopers' reports, the incident is understood to have taken place approximately half a mile from the nearest road, thereby requiring investigators to use an all-terrain vehicle in order to investigate the site of the tragic incident.

It has been established that the family of the victim, who was from Alaska, were notified of the devastating accident while the body of the victim has been delivered to the medical examiner's office pending further enquiry.
