Young skin tends to be naturally soft and glowing but it’s still a great time to get into the habit of a simple skincare routine. As most teens will be wearing make-up, it’s important that you get them used to removing cosmetics before bed. All they should need at this stage is a light cleanser, toner and moisturiser.

Look for natural, fragrance-free products that aren’t packed full of chemicals. Some tweens and teens suffer from outbreaks and this will require a treatment to fight any infection. It’s advisable not to squeeze spots as this can leave scarring. There are lots of over the counter remedies and a pharmacist will be able to offer advice about the best product. Maintain a skin care routine that is simple during these years and try not to overload the skin with products.
