Donations have poured in for 4-year-old Mitzi Steady who was tragically killed on February 9th after a 32-tonne truck lost control and collided with pedestrians on Landsown Lane in Upper Weston, Bath.

Following the little girl's death, a donation page was set up by her parents in her honour to raise funds for road safety charity, Brake.

Heartbroken father, Andrew Steady, paid tribute to his late daughter on the site, saying: "Our beloved Mitzi passed away aged 4 on the 9th of February 2015 in a  tragic accident on a dangerous road next to her brother and sister's school."

Acknowledging that members of the public were hoping to donate to charity in honour of their daughter, Andrew went on to say: "So for those that wish to give we have chosen Brake, a road safety charity, as our preferred cause but please do not feel pressured to donate, especially if you have already helped us in one of the many other ways in which we have received support."

Mitzi's parents are overwhelmed by the public's generosity with proceeds currently standing at £17,148, saying: "What an amazing response, we are very touched. Some of the messages written have been really lovely and reminded us to think of the other victims." The tragic accident also claimed the lives of thee men from Wales, aged between 30 and 60.

The little girl's funeral took place yesterday in her hometown of Bath and a children's choir paid tribute to Mitzi's love of Disney film Frozen by performing Do You Want To Build a Snowman?, one of her favourite songs.

Mitzi's grandmother was walking alongside her granddaughter when the tragic accident took place and is currently in critical condition in hospital.

Philip Potter, the driver of the ill-fated truck, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and manslaughter by gross negligence while a 28-year-old man believed to be Mr. Potter's boss was also arrested on suspicion of causing manslaughter on the same grounds.
