A family in Meath have appealed to the public for information on the whereabouts of missing teenager Rena Woods.

The family told TheJournal.ie that they are “so worried” after the 14-year-old went missing yesterday.

Rena, or Laurena, was last seen by her family at approximately 12.45pm yesterday afternoon, Saturday, just before she took a bus into Dublin.

The last contact the family had with Rena was at 2pm yesterday, when she sent a text message to her mother from McDonalds on Jervis Street, Dublin. The family have been unable to make contact with Rena since, with her phone now appearing to be turned off.

Rena’s mother Ann posted a photo of the teen to a message board on Facebook, in which she gave a description of her daughter.

“She’s 14, about 5ft 4in, slim size 8. She has short dark brown hair and brown eyes. Last seen she was wearing a royal blue sun dress with multi-coloured flowers and a short cerise jacket. She was wearing blue Converse,” she wrote.

Ms Woods confirmed that the gardaí have been notified of Rena’s disappearance.

Anyone with information is asked to contact gardaí at Ashbourne Garda Station on 01 8010600.
