Having learned that their image was being used to promote the 'No' campaign in the upcoming same-sex marriage referendum, the family at the centre of the controversy has taken the matter into their own hands and allowed the 'Yes' campaign to use their family's image to promote equality.

Shocked that their family's picture was being utilised being by the 'No' campaign without their permission, the family quickly set about rectifying the issue and created a poster promoting their own stance on the matter.

In a statement issued though Amnesty International, the couple revealed that they were both 'surprised and upset' to see their image emblazoned across a poster which does not echo their own views.

Admitting they may have been naive to allow their photo to be purchased, they say: "Perhaps, naïvely, we imagined that on the off chance that any was ever selected, it might be for a small magazine or website."

Determined to express their genuine view, the couple, who do not wish to be named, can now be found pictured on either side of their infant on a poster which reads: "Children Deserve #Equality."

Elaborating further still on the matter, the couple declared: "We completely support same-sex marriage, and we believe that same-sex couples’ should of course be able to adopt, as we believe that they are equally able to provide children with much-needed love and care."

Revealing the impact the poster had on them, they insisted: "To suggest otherwise is offensive to us, and to many others."

Disregarding the couples' upset over the use of their image to promote a view which they do not uphold, the editor of the Irish Catholic newspaper, Michael Kelly, said: "When you earn money from renting out your family and waive your rights, you don’t get to complain."

With emotions running high as the referendum edges ever closer, we're glad to see this particular family have been given the opportunity to express their genuine thoughts on the matter.
