If you’ve ever felt guilty for using retail therapy to cheer yourself up or as a reward for reaching a personal milestone, don’t worry, you’re not alone!

According to a recent survey compiled by gift card company One4All, us Irish just love to splash the cash, with a whopping 90% of us revealing that we spend up to €200 per month on new clothes.

With 87% of admitting that we love to shop, it’s no surprise that we sometimes find ourselves justifying our splurges from time to time, right?

The classic ‘I’ll get loads of wear out of it’ excuse is our number one reason for taking the plunge and snapping up that desired item of clothing, but with the launch of One4All’s new Shop4Crumlin campaign, we need no longer justify our love of fashion!

So if you want to take the guilt out of your shopping trips, why not do your bit for charity while updating your wardrobe for the new season?

By making a purchase with a One4All Gift Card in any of their 6,000 retail outlets from the 9th to the 17th of May, you will be donating 50 cent to CMRF Crumlin which is the principle fundraising body for Our Lady’s Children Hospital, Crumlin.

Put your love of retail therapy to fantastic use by splashing your cash in the stores taking part in this incredible campaign and help improve conditions for our nation's most deserving children.

And if you decide to re-stock your wardrobe in Brown Thomas, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, Arnotts or LifeStyle Sports, you’ll be doubling your contribution as these retailers will be contributing an extra 50 cent to CMRF Crumlin, bringing the total to €1!

Commenting on the importance of the campaign, Fiona Whelan, Head of Marketing and Communications of CMRF Crumlin said: “We are pleased to be joining forces with One4all Gift Cards on our Shop4Crumlin campaign to raise much needed funds for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital. The money raised from this campaign will help fund new radiography equipment which will reduce the radiation dose to a child while also improving x-ray imagery.”

Highlighting the impact your donation will have on ill children, Fiona goes on to say: “In addition some money will be used to support our Giggle Fund. Often people forget that sick children are still children. They still want to go outside and play and watch their favourite films or read their favourite books. This fund allows patients to forget about their illness or their next set of tests for a few hours and just enjoy being children.”

We don’t know about you, but we definitely feel a shopping trip coming on!
