In those devastating times where your whole world is turned upside-down, you find yourself clutching onto the kindness of strangers like a life-buoy.

Thank heavens then, for people like Casey Lessard: a firefighter who has gone viral for all of the right reasons this week.

Casey was one of the first responders to the scene of a horrific crash, whereby an SUV carrying a family of six veered off of a highway and flipped several times.

The adult driver and five small children in the car were all left injured, with the little ones all requiring medical attention.

Amid the chaos, Casey spotted a hurt, panicked child and took decisive action in order to calm him down.

Casey lay down beside the child, where he was receiving medical treatment, and took out his phone. He then proceeded to play clips of the movie Happy Feet in order to distract him.

A bystander captured the touching image and shared it online, where it has since gone viral.

Commenting on the image and the scene, Casey’s captain, Darren Peterson, told the Sun Herald: “The video calmed him down instantly.”

Well done to Casey, and we hope that the family are making progress with their recoveries.
