Watching your child interact with their grandparents is one of the sweetest things you can witness as a mum or dad.

Not only does it give you the opportunity to see your own parents in a different light, but it also allows you a sneak peek of your child's approach and attitude to other incredibly important family members.

So imagine this mum's delight when she witnessed an incredibly tender moment between her little girl and her own grandmother.

Introducing six-year-old Sophie from Co. Offaly to her great-grandmother, Brenda Brock, for the first time, proud mum, Sarah, was stunned by the immediate bond evident between the two.

Recalling her daughter's first meeting with 82-year-old Brenda, Sarah told The Mirror: "Sophie just jumped straight into bed with Nana and started chatting to her and singing to her and stroking her face."

Recalling the tender moment between her grandmother and her daughter, Sarah explained: "Sophie brought her back to life. It was amazing, we just couldn't believe it. When they were together it was like they were the only two people in the room."
