We have reported on some truly courageous acts in recent times, and this week we have yet another incredible story to share.

A construction worker in Singapore has been praised after coming to the rescue of a three-year-old little girl whom he found dangling from the second-floor of her apartment complex.

According to reports, the little girl got stuck between the rails of a clothes-drying rack, with a local video blogger managing to capture the entire incident on camera.

It was a woman who first spotted to tot clinging onto the railing, and called for help. While two men tried and failed to pull themselves up to catch the child, others knocked on the apartment door, but no one answered.

Eventually, a construction worker who was carrying out road repairs nearby took charge of the situation, managing to pull himself up to reach the child and bring her to safety.

A representative from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) commented on the incident, saying: “From the ground floor, they climbed up to the second floor and released the little girl’s head prior to the arrival of the SCDF. SCDF firefighters brought the little girl down to safety using a ladder.”

Those involved in the rescue will be receiving the SCDF Public Spiritedness Award, they added.
