We seek comfort in the familiar when our little ones are in a life-threatening position, and it seems this had a far more powerful effect than anticipated for the family of little Millie Moran.

The four-year-old, from Oldham in England, reportedly awoke from a coma after hearing her parents singing songs from one of her favourite movies, Disney’s Frozen.

According to the Mirror, Millie was only ‘minutes from death’ when she miraculously awoke and told her parents that she heard them singing Let It Go from her slumber.

Millie was born with a rare condition called myelomeningocele – a defect of the spinal cord. She was rushed to hospital with a chest infection in December, but by Christmas Day the tot’s lungs had collapsed and she slipped into a coma.

Before her condition deteriorated, Millie had received a Frozen karaoke machine from Santa Claus, and parents Emma-Jayne and Michael found comfort in singing songs from the movie as they kept a bedside vigil.

“We kept singing Frozen to her because she loves Frozen and we wanted to keep her feeling as normal as possible, just like we were at home. It was just the hope she would be able to hear us, so she knew she wasn’t on her own,” she told the newspaper.

After being told that she was “on the verge of dying”, Emma-Jayne and Michael were astonished when Millie woke up and told them that she had heard them singing the entire time.

The family has now hailed Millie’s recovery as a miracle.

We sincerely hope that Millie will continue to thrive and beat the odds stacked against her.
