Whether the sun is shining or not, the summer is the time to get the kids out of the house and outside playing.

However, dragging them away from the TV or their smart device can be a bit tricky - but with the mention of these games they are sure to bounce outside.

So whether it's sunny out or a little chilly, the following three games are sure to get your kids excited.

1. Obstacle course

While it can take a bit of time to set it up, it is one of the best ways to keep kids out of the house and enjoying the fresh air for as long as possible. While there is no real set way for creating a course – let your imagination run free – all you really need are: a skipping rope, chairs, sweeping brush, pillows, blankets and anything else you can find lying around!

2. Scavenger hunt

Another one that takes bit of time to set up (and a little thinking), but is a great game that the whole family can get involved in. You will need to set up two sets of clues and designate them either red or blue. Next, divide the participants into teams and assign a colour to them – these are the clues they need to find. Obviously the team to find all their clues first wins.

3. Water balloon piñata

OK, with water conservation at the forefront of our minds (well, most of us), the last thing mums want to do is give kids free reign of the water hose. But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get to enjoy running around the garden having water-fun – we all remember doing it ourselves. So with this in mind, water piñata is ideal. Simply fill up about ten water balloons and tie them together; hang from a tree or washing line and give each participant a turn to try to burst them over their heads!

While some of these might be a little time-consuming setting up it will be totally worth it!

SHARE if you plan on playing these with your kids.
