Gardaí have this week appealed for information, after a mother-of-one was left in a ‘critical’ condition following a suspected hit-and-run in Dublin, at the weekend.

Siobhan Geraghty, a 35-year-old primary school teacher, is said to be fighting for her life after being struck by a car in Clonsilla, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to a report by the Irish Independent, Ms Geraghty took a taxi home to the Lohunda Dale estate. It is believed that a passing car then struck her before fleeing the scene.

Ms Geraghty was discovered, unconscious, in the middle of the road by neighbours, who had been alerted by the sounds of the accident.

After preliminary treatment in Connolly Hospital, Ms Geraghty was transferred to Beaumont Hospital where she is said to be in a critical condition.

The Irish Independent further reports that gardaí are now hoping to track down Ms Geraghty’s taxi driver, in the hope that he or she may have seen or passed the vehicle involved in the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with the authorities, either at the Blanchardstown Garda Station (on 01 6667000) or via the Garda Confidential Line (on 1800 666111).

We’re thinking of Ms Geraghty and her family at this time, and we are praying for her recovery.

SHARE to spread the message and, hopefully, help the gardaí piece the incident together.
