Gardaí have made an appeal to the public this evening for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of a young boy from Kilkenny.

The authorities are looking to locate 12-year-old Thomas Delaney, from Glenmore in County Kilkenny, who has been reported missing.

Thomas was last seen today at around midday. He is described as being four foot tall, of slim build, with blue eyes and short ‘mousy brown’ hair. When last seen earlier this afternoon, he was wearing a grey-blue Adidas tracksuit and dark-grey runners.

Gardaí released a black-and-white photo of the young boy, in the hope that it will jog a member of the public’s memory.

In a flyer released online, the authorities say that they are concerned for Thomas’ welfare. They ask that anyone with information make contact with Thomastown Garda Station on 056-7754157 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666111. Alternatively, anyone with valuable information can contact their local garda station.

We sincerely hope that Thomas is found safe, and soon. We will keep you updated on the story as it progresses and more information is released.
