Gardaí are today investigating after a female cyclist was reportedly raped in Clondalkin, Dublin, in the early hours of this morning.

 

The woman was said to have been pushing her bicycle past an area of parkland along the Lucan-Newlands Road, when the incident occurred. According to RTÉ.ie, it is believed that a group of men were involved in the alleged attack.

 

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment after the terrifying ordeal.

 

 

According to Independent.ie, local gardaí have sealed off the area where the attack took place, and members of the Garda Technical Bureau are now examining the scene.

 

The Garda Press Office told MummyPages that no arrests have been made as of yet, and they are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch.
