There is no joy quite like that which accompanies a pregnancy announcement, especially when the baby has been so hoped for, for such a long time.

This has been proven beautifully by Erica Wehrkamp, who recently shared a video of her parents’ reactions when they found out that, after eight years of trying, she and her husband were finally expecting a baby.

Posting her video to the Love What Matters Facebook page, Erica explained that their happy news came after years of disappointment, failed in vitro sessions and a ‘devastating’ miscarriage.

“We had given up on our dream of having a baby of our own. Just a few months later, we conceived our miracle on our own without the help of medication or any intervention. Last Easter, we told my parents that we were expecting our miracle baby,” she explained.

As a special Easter gift, all of the grandchildren in the family made paintings with their handprints for Erica’s parents, and they added in an extra set reading, ‘Baby Wehrkamp due in November’.

When Erica’s parents clapped eyes on the extra set of handprints, and put two and two together, their reaction was as heart-warming and ecstatic as you can imagine.
