Earlier this week, a nationwide appeal was launched when a little girl accidentally donated her favourite teddy bear to charity.

We are delighted to share that four-year-old Lara has been reunited with her beloved teddy bear.

St. Vincent de Paul shared the brilliant news on their Facebook page, they wrote: “The little girl who donated toys and accidentally included her favourite teddy has got it back!”

They explained that the customer who purchased the bear returned it to the charity shop in Kilkenny. Lara’s mum quickly collected the teddy bear from the SVP shop, it’s safe to say her daughter is overjoyed by the wonderful news.

St. Vincent de Paul shared the sweetest photo of Lara and her bear, shortly after they were reunited. They wrote, “The joy on little Lara's face when she was reunited with her lost Teddy after her mum collected it from our shop.”

Lara and her family realised that they left her precious bear amongst the bags they had donated to the charity shop.

The bear had already been sold by the time the family realised it was missing. Lara was heartbroken when she found out.

The four-year-old girl has had the bear since she was born.

Luckily, the buyer happily returned the bear once they heard Lara’s story.

The staff of the shop praised the kind-hearted girl, “She was so good when she donated a few bags of toys but her favourite teddy was accidentally in one of the bags.”

SVP thanked everyone for their help and for their constant support and donations, “Thank you so so much to everyone who helped spread the word and helped in reuniting the two.”

They added, “Also to the shop staff who really worked hard at putting the word out. Great to have a happy ending!”

We are thrilled for Lara!
