A mother in Canada has launched a frantic search for her toddler daughter, after she was abducted and brought to the UK by her estranged wife and their sperm donor.

Tasha Brown is working with Interpol to locate former partner Lauren Etchells, originally from England, after she left Canada with their two-year-old daughter, Kaydance.

Brown and Etchells, who wed in 2012 but split up last year, were in the middle of a custody case over their daughter when Ms Etchells fled the country. During that court procedure, an order had been passed prohibiting Ms Etchells from leaving Canada.

With Ms Etchells believed to have lied in order to obtain a passport for Kaydance, authorities – including Interpol – are now searching for the mother and child, who reportedly fled to the UK in May.

According to the Mirror, Ms Etchells left with the couple’s sperm donor.

With a warrant out for Ms Etchells’ arrest, a heartbroken Ms Brown is doing everything in her power to find her daughter.

In a press conference, Ms Brown – who has set up Facebook and GoFundMe pages as part of the search – accused her estranged wife of ‘taking away Kaydance’s freedom’.

“Kaydance will be unable to grow up knowing her mum and her family. Lauren is causing Kaydance no end of psychological damage, including being able to form any sort of trusting long-term relationship,” she said.

In an emotionally charged statement directed to Kaydance herself, she added: “Every day I wonder where you are, and I wonder if you’re alright. I wonder if you’re walking more, if you’re talking more, if you’re laughing or crying.”
