If you’re looking for a fun day out that the whole family will enjoy over Halloween then look no further! Airfield Estate in Dundrum, Co.Dublin has frighteningly fun activities for children and grown-ups of all ages to take part in.
The witch’s broom has lost its zoom at Airfield farm and she needs your help to find it! Head to Airfield during the mid-term break to search high and low along the witch’s trail to find a broom with zoom.
Not only will you get to spend time looking for the broom, but you will also get to explore things that go BUMP in the night and see the habitats of Airfield farm’s night-time residents on a self-guided trail. You can even get a Nocturnal Habitat Trail Sheet to follow along with on your journey, so make sure to grab one from the ticket desk!
During your busy day of searching and exploring, little ones can relax and listen to Room on a Room being read during daily Storytime offered at 11.30 am in Airfield House. Of course, you’ll be peckish after all of your hard work too, so head to Overends Kitchen for a tasty bite to eat before you continue on with your day packed with exciting things to do and see.
Regular daily activities will still be taking place at Airfield so you can make the most of your day by attending the following:

- Jersey Herd Milking- 10.30am
- Story time- 11.30am (October 29 - November 6)
- Airfield Heritage Tour- 12pm
- Vintage Car Talk- 1.30pm
- Airfield Heritage Tour- 2pm
- Food Garden Tour- 3pm
Bring the whole family along from October 22-23 & October 26-November 6 from 9.30am- 4.30pm. Last admissions are at 3.30pm, so head in early to enjoy a scarily good fun-filled day out for the Halloween break.
This is a drop-in, self-guided seasonal addition included with a day ticket. If you are an annual pass holder, it is free. Please note that this is a seasonal self-guided worksheet and trail activity, and not a stand-alone event. It is a great way to heighten your experience at Airfield Estate over the mid-term break to add a spooky element to your visit.
