A 43-year-old man of of no fixed abode has been charged with attempted murder and actual bodily harm after two pre-teen boys were stabbed in a country lane in Hampshire.

The shocking incident, which occurred on Friday afternoon, has resulted in the hospitalisation of the 12 and 13-year-old boys, both of whom are understood to be a serious but stable condition.

The incident comes after reports that a middle-aged man had been exposing himself to children in the area.

Responding to the recent reports, Warblington School appealed to parents to educate their children on potential dangers, writing: "We would ask parents to ensure that their children are extra vigilant during their journey to and from school as there has been an incident of exposure to a student from this school within the last 24 hours. The police are involved."

Following the shocking stabbing incident last Friday, one witness speak to local media, recalling: "There was a very loud helicopter circling above and all the mums and children were wondering what was going on. The police had put up a cordon stopping anyone going into Southleigh Road. There were lots of police cars and an ambulance."

According to a statement published by Hampshire police, Richard Michael Walsh is due to appear before Portsmouth Magistrates Court tomorrow.

This is unfortunately not the first stabbing incident we have reported on this week and our hearts go out to all those involved.
