The mother of a 15-year-old girl in the United States was horrified when she realised her daughter had created a 'business' selling nude images and videos of herself online.

Understandably stricken by her daughter's online activity, the child's mother immediately notified authorities who quickly learned that the teenager had been selling these types of images for over a year.

Speaking to the police, the child at the centre of this heartwrenching case admitted she had approximately four or five "customers" a month - some of whom made more than one purchase over the course of the past 12 months.

According to Fox17, the teenage girl from Gaines Township Michigan sent the images through her private email account to members of the public she had met on a chat app named Kik.

Records established that the youth was charging between $20 and $100 for the inappropriate footage, with the teen admitting she had accumulated over $1,100 since establishing the 'business'.

Perhaps most worryingly, Kent County Sheriff's Office revealed that officials have seen a significant increase in these types of crimes especially the cases involving childrens' dangerous use of social networking sites.

As it stands, an investigation is currently underway, but no arrests have been made in the case thus far.
