It's inevitable that at a certain point in a couple's relationship, the original spark which drew both parties together begins to fizzle out.

While it is undoubtedly replaced by something much more significant, it comes as no surprise that many people make an attempt to recapture that initial spark in a bid to remind themselves of that first heady flush of love.

One woman from the States, who made the decision to re-ignite that aspect of her relationship with the help of a sexy photoshoot, learned a valuable lesson in love - as did the photographer who captured the provocative images.

Recalling the moment she realised she had made a ill-informed decision when agreeing to erase her client's 'flaws', Victoria Caroline Boudoir shared the story with her followers on Facebook.

Explaining that a mother-of-three, who was in her mid-40s, approached her with a specific plan, Victoria recalled her saying: "I want you to photoshop all of my cellulite, all of my angry red stretch marks, ALL of my fat, and all of my wrinkles....just make it go away. I want to feel gorgeous just ONCE,"

Fulfilling her client's wishes, Victoria photoshopped the curvaceous wife and mother who she described as a 'goddess' only to learn that the recipient of her work was less than impressed with her efforts.

Outlining his dismay with the images, the client's husband explained how his wife's perceived 'flaws' actually act as a reminder of the long life they have shared together.

While he understood his wife's desire to 'spice things up', he wrote: "These pictures while they are beautiful and you are clearly a very talented photographer, they are not my wife."

"You made every one of her "flaws" disappear and while I'm sure this is exactly what she asked you to do, it took away everything that makes up our life," he explained.

"When you took away her stretch marks, you took away the documentation of my children, he insisted. "When you took away her wrinkles, you took away over two decades of our laughter, and our worries."

"When you took away her cellulite, you took away her love of baking and all the goodies we have eaten over the years," he continued.

The client's dismayed husband insisted he was not berating Victoria for carrying out his wife's wishes, but simply admitting that his wife's decision highlighted his own shortcomings.

"Seeing these images made me realise that I honestly do not tell my wife enough how much I LOVE her and adore her just as she is," he admitted.

Realising the motivation for his wife's decision, he finished: "She hears it so seldom, that she actually thought these photoshopped images are what I wanted and needed her to look like. I have to do better, and for the rest of my days I am going to celebrate her in all her imperfectness. Thanks for the reminder."

Victoria's post, which has been shared thousands of times since its upload, forced the photographer to analyse the concept of beauty, writing: "I encourage you to think twice about how much "altering" we do. Our loved ones cherish and adore us just as we are."

The photographer, who admits she carried guilt over the incident for over six months, has now decided to spread her client's husband's message, finishing: "Just in case you don't have anyone telling you how beautiful you are tonight....YOU ARE SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL."

OK, we admit it, we cried.
