It’s always good to get a second opinion and shop around when it comes to your household bills, and bonkers.ie is making this easier than ever before.

The team at bonkers.ie is currently celebrating five years as Ireland’s favourite comparison and switching service, and they took the opportunity this week to issue a very important message.

Unveiling a new, free-to-use website, the bonkers.ie team has urged Irish households to take advantage of the staggering €370 million in unclaimed energy bill savings.

There have been some dramatic changes in the energy market since bonkers.ie came on the scene, but despite four new energy suppliers joining the market since 2010, the site claims that up to 86% of households are still paying standard prices.

In response to this finding, and marking the launch of the new website, bonkers.ie Managing Director David Kerr said: “We’re calling on the Minister for Finance to cut the DIRT rate in the upcoming budget. With €93 billion in deposit accounts, even a small concession will deliver a significant return for beleaguered savers.”
