The parents of the young Darby brothers involved in the tragic dog attack in Essex have broken their silence today, to pay tribute to their little ones.
Four-month-old Archie Darby died, and his 22-month-old brother Daniel-Jay was left seriously injured after an attack by a Staffordshire bull terrier, in Colchester.
Their mother, who sustained minor injuries in yesterday’s attack, joined the boys’ father as they issued a heart-wrenching tribute to their children.
So sad to hear of the death of a baby in a dog attack in Colchester. My thoughts and prayers are with his brother now at Colchester Hospital

“Our beautiful sons Archie Joe Darby and Daniel-Jay Darby are so, so loved by us all and were such happy little loveable boys,” they began.
The couple, who requested to remain unnamed, added: “It doesn’t seem real that our little Archie Bum has gone to Heaven and our little Daniel is in intensive care because of a tragic, tragic incident involving a dog attack.”
Asking for privacy, they honoured their children as they said: “Heaven has gained a beautiful angel and he will be greatly missed by us all, and our other little solider is still fighting strong.”
Our hearts are with the family at this devastating time.
