Its the Bake Off final! 9 simple recipes to whip up for tonight’s last episode

Tonight is the night we've all been waiting for — it's the final episode of this year's Great British Bake Off! That's right, our final three bakers will be taking to the tent this evening, to battle it out for that all-imortant winning title, and we couldn't be more excited.

To celebrate the occasion we've put together a little list of some of our favourite quick and easy bakes, which would make absolutely perfect snacking options to tuck into during this evening's final episode.

Not forgetting of course that they're mostly made up of store-cupboard staples, meaning there's no need to rush out to the shops, searching for those pesky ingredients. These basic recipes may be extremely low maintenance, but they taste absolutely heavenly!

Black Forest Cupcakes

As a tribute to the wonderful German baker, Jürgen, who was devestatingly eliminated last week during the sem-finals, we've decided to revisit our delicious Black Forest Cupcake recipe, which is both incredibly scrumptious and ridiculously easy to make!

The best ever chocolate chips cookies

Exactly what it says on the tin — this recipe really is the best! Plus, these perfect biscuits make the ideal TV watching companion. Simply pair with a pot of tea and enjoy to your heart's content. Dunking, optional.

Lime and Coconut Loaf Cake

This lime and coconut loaf is the perfect midweek bake to whip up, taking no time at all to put together and with minimal effort required — even a beginner baker could master this simple recipe.

Fudge brownies

This ultimate brownie recipe is super simple to make, and made up completely of store-cupboard staples which most people will have in their house already. Perfect for whipping up a batch of last-minute brownies just in time for Bake Off.

Rhubarb crumble

One of our favourite dishes around this time of year, this rhubarb crumble is absolutely scrumptious severd with some warm custard and a good scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Pineapple Upsidedown Cupcakes

We adore this modern twist on such a classic bake. If you're having a Covid-friendly viewing party this evening, then this could be the recipe for you!

Banana buttermilk bread

We know, everyone and their mother mastered the banana bread recipe during the first lockdown, which is why we're bringing it back. You might as well use up those sad looking bananas which you've been neglecting, and make something utterly delicious out of them instead!

Lemon Drizzle Slices

This simple traybake is full of those delicious zesty flavours which pack quite a punch. A recipe we find ourselves returning to time and time again.

Raspberry jam hearts

This five-ingredient recipe is super fun for kids to make too. Children will love helping you roll out the pastry, cut the heart shapes out and spoon jam generously over the pastry. Not to mention, they'll probably love eating them even more!
