Jessie J shares first clip of emotional song written after tragic miscarriage

Jessie J has shared a first look at a song she wrote after her tragic baby loss.

In November 2021, the Price Tag singer announced that she had sadly suffered a devastating miscarriage, after she went to her third pregnancy scan and was told there was no heartbeat.

18 months later, in May of this year, Jessie then went on to welcome a baby son named Sky with her boyfriend, basketball player Chanan Colman.

As she continues to adjust to life with her five-month-old son, the 35-year-old has now been reflecting on her miscarriage.

Taking to Instagram earlier today, Jessie chose to post a never-before-seen snippet of an unreleased song.

At one point during the emotional track, she sings: “I know why you came / To light up the way / There’s no one to blame / You just slipped away.”

In the caption of her post, Jessie then went on to explain the meaning behind the song.

“I just found this demo of a song I wrote after my miscarriage which is nearly 2 years ago called ‘Comes in waves’ and felt the want to share it,” she began.

“I am always looking for the positive flip after everything sad in my life. But in this moment I remember wanting and needing to just sit in my sadness, and be with it. It’s important we allow ourselves to feel what we need to in moments in our lives that call for us to be vulnerable,” Jessie explained.

“The joy will come back but don’t rush your journey of grief. It’s such a personal journey to navigate and process,” she concluded.

Following the release of the beautiful track, many of Jessie’s 14M followers have suggested that she should officially release the song.

“This is beautiful!!! You should release and donate profits to a charity,” one fan wished.

“Please release this. It’s not a happy song, it’s not a hit but it’s definitely a song that so many people need and that’s honestly what your music is all about,” another added.
