She has been wowing the public all week since touching down in New York with Prince William, and the Duchess of Cambridge brought plenty of sparkle to her final royal engagement in the city.

Stepping out for a special gala dinner to raise money for St Andrew’s University, where she first met her husband, Kate Middleton looked nothing short of stunning.

Dressed in a midnight blue gown by her favourite designer, Jenny Packham, the Duchess showed off just a hint of her baby bump as she posed to wave on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The black-tie event was a star-studded affair, with chat show host Seth Meyers drafted in to make the after-dinner toast, and famous faces such as Anna Wintour, Mary-Kate Olsen and Princess Eugenie also in attendance.

The dinner completes the couple’s three-day visit to New York, during which they met with a host of prominent figures including Hilary Clinton, and Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

During her whirlwind visit, Kate paid a visit to underprivileged children in Harlem, helping them to make decorations and wrap presents for the festive season.

It has been rumoured that the Duchess will be taking some time out from official duty in the New Year, as she is expected to give birth in April.
