Rathcoole Football Club has issued a warning to parents to be vigilant after they received notification that a “serious child offender, allegedly” was living in the area.

The club in south Dublin took to Facebook to warn parents to be vigilant, writing:

“Morning everyone, while I don't wish to alarm parents and children alike, I received notification of an email from Holy Family National School a short while ago. It seems we have an unwanted resident (serious child offender, allegedly) in Rathcoole village..."

According to The Liberal, parents of children attending Scoil Chronain were issued with a letter informing them to be extra vigilant, which reads: “It has just been brought to my attention that a serious sex offender has moved into Rathcoole village."

“I do not know for certain that this is true and I do not want to cause alarm. However, I feel it is important to inform you, to ensure your children’s safety.

"Be vigilant at all times and make proper arrangements for your child’s supervision and safety. Should I hear anything else I will inform you.”

Emma, one of the parents who received a letter from the school Holy Family National School, got in touch with 98fm Dublin Talks to express her fear, adding that she didn't send her kids to school today due to her fears.

Talking to Jeremy about the vagueness of the information being released, Emma said: “The people should be informed”.

“Let it leak; let it leak”.
