When Mum announces they’ll be having a big surprise at dinner tonight, her two little boys get very excited; whatever could it be?

Watch as the two children guess and speculate about what Mum could be surprising them with after school, each prediction getting bigger and bigger until the guessing gets out of control.

David Mackintosh’s newest offering is a sweet, amusing book that most children will be able to relate to. Is there anyone who hasn’t gotten carried away guessing what a surprise might be? There’s also a really nice message in the book to teach kids about the benefits of family and what being truly lucky really means.

Everything about Lucky is relatable to children’s lives, from the main character’s way of thinking to the way his school friends can spread stories so quickly. Even the drawings are charmingly juvenile.

Mackintosh has received plenty of praise for his previous offerings like Standing in for Lincoln Green and Marshall Armstrong is New to our School, and Lucky does not disappoint.
