A man has tragically died in a house fire in Kells, Co. Meath this morning, the Irish Mirror reports.

The inferno broke out at 8:15am this morning at the home on Archdeaconry Glebe in Kells.

Three people caught in the blaze were taken to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan: two men in their early to mid-40s and a woman in her early 40s.

One of the men was sadly pronounced dead not long thereafter.

The woman and the other man are still at the hospital, though it is believed that their injuries are not serious.

Gardaí have sealed off the house and are conducting a technical examination today in order to discover what exactly happened.

Our hearts go out to the family of the man who died.
