Maxi-Cosi is to launch the first child car seat in Europe that complies with the new, safer i-Size regulations.

These new measures were introduced by the European Union in July 2013 in order to provide children with additional protection and safety in the car.

Maxi-Cosi was involved in the development of this legislation and has now released the 2wayPearl car seat, along with the 2wayFix Base, which allows children to sit rear-facing up to four years of age.

The key differences are the increased support for the child’s head and neck and better protection in the event of both frontal and side-impact. The seat’s five-point harness ensures that the child stays in the seat even in a roll-over accident.

If you find choosing the right car seat difficult, i-Size also makes the process a little easier for parents by classifying seats by the child’s length/height rather than weight.

The Maxi-Cosi 2wayPearl car seat has already impressed experts, winning the Innovation Award at the nursery industry’s premier event in Cologne in September
