Me Time With Netflix

Netflix are asking MummyPages mums how they’ll be spending their time now that the kids are back in school.

Maybe you’ll be finishing that blog post you started writing two months ago? Or perhaps you’ll be finally making use of your neglected gym membership? How about you look after yourself for once, put your feet up, and treat yourself to a relaxing moment with cup of tea and your favourite Netflix show.

Netflix is available anywhere there’s a wifi connection, and can be watched on numerous devices, including mobiles, tablets, smart TVs and games consoles. With a massive selection of top quality films and award-winning TV shows, as well as access to Netflix’s exclusive original programmes, there’s always something new to discover.

So, how will you be using Netflix now that you have a bit more time to yourself? Do you work part-time and look forward to that hour in the afternoon when you unwind with an episode of Suits? Are you giving yourself some free time after you drop the kids at school to grab a coffee and catch up on Orange is the New Black on your iPad? Or do you wait until the kids are safely tucked up in bed to binge-watch the final season of The Killing on your smart TV with the hubby? Whatever it is, we'd love to hear about it!

Share how as a mum, you use Netflix to find some quality me time and be in with a chance to win a weekend away for you and your partner at the g Hotel & Spa in Galway.

I work away from home and love to watch my favourite series on Netflix to wind down in the evenings. The distraction also helps to minimise time worrying about and missing my family. Without Netflix I think I might go mad!

I have never thought of bringing the iPad to the gym - what a great idea. I will defrinately be tyring this at the weekend - hopefully it will make me look forward to going to the gym now! ;-) I currently catch-up on some Me Time in the evenings when the kids are gone to bed. Since the football has started back - the hubbie has taken over the tv in the evenings - so I take the iPad and catch up on my favourite shows. :-)

I love catching some sneaky Me Time when I drop the kids off to football. Instead of going home, I bring the iPad with me and sit in the car for the hour while I wait for the kids to finish. There are some really great ideas here though - watching it in the bath, while ironing - I will definately be catching up on my shows more often with these ideas.LOL

We have netflix and find find it very useful to have at home and on the go, however, the kids get the best use out of it during the week, my me time doesn't kick in until the weekend. On Saturday we (my husband and I) watch movies, and on Sunday we catch up on ourboxsets.

I don't know why, but it took me ages to switch on to Netflix, I just didn't think it was for me. But how wrong was I? When I eventually logged on to subscribe (which was ridiculously simple by the way) I realised why everyone is raving about it - there's so much to watch and enjoy. And it's on whenever I need it. fantastic for mummy me time, especially during middle of the night feeds ... well, if you have to be up, you might as well have some great company.

I don't know that I'd necessarily call it me time, but I do watch Netflix when I have the boring chores to do around the house, ironing especially. i fly through the week's worth of ironing while watching my fave shows - Modern Family, Tudors, Orange is the new Black. The perfect invention I say.

Me and my best friend meet up once a week to catch up on our tv viewing, we both have little ones, so don't get out very much. We both have and love Netflix, and so to make sure we get to do soemthing together that we both like, we take turns calling to each other, bring coffee and goodies and settle in for an episode of HOC (our current viewing enjoyment). Great fun to watch with somebody else.

I work full time but i always keep an hour to myself after my son is in bed to watch my favourite shows. Atvthe moment i am watching the killing, its hard to stick to an hour with this show as its so good. Other ones i recommend are whitechapel and orphan black. There are so many i will have to quit work to watch them all :-)

There's not a lot of me time I'm afraid, but when I do get some at the weekend, it's Covert Affairs on a Saturday night. The hubby isn't too fond of it, but I'm definitely al bit addicted. Little bit addicted to Auggie ... swoon.

I used to be a bit of a bookworm, and I still enjoy reading something on my Kindle every now and again. But I have to say, since signing up for Netflix a few months ago, I just love my evenings in now ( have become vvvv anit-social altogether), the hubby and I take turns on makign dinner, and we also take turns in our viewing each evenign. I love it. Can't understand why everyone doesn't sign up.

My partner works nights 4 days a week so once the kids are down, I get watching a bit like the other mums generally in my PJs and under a blanket along with a cuppa and half a packet of chocolate biscuits. Although, when I look at Blake Lively in GG, it makes me put the biccies down.

Netflix is my saviour, I think I would def crack up without it! My favourite part of the day is when I have just dropped the kids to school, I come home - put on the kettle and watch one episode of Orange Is The New Black. I literally don't touch any of the house-work until I have had my cuppa and caught up with the latest of Piper's story and then I am set up for the day. Netflix is amazing as I have an awful habit of forgetting where I have left off on a series, but Netflix knows exactly where to re-start. Thank you Netlfix!!

My husband and I use Netflix for "Our Time". We have created quite an extensive wish list of programmes that we want to watch and every night we sit down to watch a couple of episodes. We have already watched Suits, Breaking Bad and The Good Wife, we are currently watching Orange Is The New Black. House of Cards, Dexter and Arrested Devleopment are on the wishlist. While my hb is at footie, I sometimes watch Gossip Girl - my guily pleasure. We love Netflix and it is also perfect for the odd "date night" - we order in and choose a film....just perfect. :-)
