Earlier this week, we shared the most unpopular day for celebrating your birthday, and now new statistics have revealed the most common date of birth throughout the entire year.

According to a study carried out by the UK’s Office for National Statistics (ONS), September 26th is the most common birthday. With eight of the other top 10 dates falling in late September or early October, our maths calculate that Christmas is a very amorous time of the year!

The statistics were calculated based on birth data from the years 1995 to 2014, and were shared via infographic this week.

On the other end of the scale, the fewest number of births were found to occur on Christmas Day and St Stephen’s Day – we wonder how many parents calculate it to be so?!

The latest statistics follow the revelation that December 16th is officially the worst day on which to be born, with the forthcoming festivities and bad weather resulting in more party cancellations and fewer birthday gifts.

So, it looks like Christmas is the perfect time for spending a little quality time together, then!
