It has been confirmed that a woman who left her three kids, one under the age of ten, on their own for three weeks in February won’t face court.

A mother from Salford, who has not been named, was arrested on suspicion of child neglect after she left her children to go on holidays, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The woman in question had left her children to go to a wedding abroad and it is believed she had been planning on staying away for longer, but returned when she realised the police were involved.

When the authorities intervened they found the children, who had continued to attend school, living in an “unkempt” house without food, gas or heating.

However, it has been confirmed by Greater Manchester Police that the mother, who has been issued with a police caution, won’t face court for her actions.

The kids, who were initially placed in foster care, have now been returned to their mother, but a spokesperson for the council has said: "We are continuing to work with the family."
