Recently, we were astonished by the story of little Catalina Ackers, who awoke from a drowning accident with a new-found ability to speak, and the wonders of the human body are just as evident in the following report.

Kate Mansbridge has been dubbed a ‘medical miracle’, after her body ‘rebooted’ following a road accident, enabling her to conceive just years after going through menopause.

According to the Mirror, nurse Kate was on a cycling holiday in France when she was involved in a serious road accident. She went on to suffer traumatic injuries to her body, including her brain, and there were serious fears that she would never walk again.

Kate underwent a series of operations, and pulled through to truly astonishing results. Despite going through menopause at the age of 27, and being told that she would never be able to have kids, her body ‘re-started’ and she began to get periods again.

Three years after the accident, Kate went on to conceive a child, and she welcomed much longed-for daughter Ruby shortly after.

Speaking to the Mirror, a grateful Kate explained: “The doctors said the crash somehow rebooted my body, and my monthly cycle started up again. This meant I was able to conceive my daughter Ruby – the daughter I’d always wanted.”

With little Ruby now six years old, Kate admits that she has just about gotten over the traumatic accident – but is so grateful for her little one.

We never fail to be surprised by what our bodies are capable of.
