Hot on the heels of yesterday's John Lewis story, yet another mum has reportedly been subjected to intense scrutiny on account of her toddler acting like, well, a typical toddler.

Janin Mayer from New South Wales has spoken out against the owners of her apartment block after they took issue with the noise level in the home Janin shares with her husband and 19-month-old son Elliav.

According to the 33-year-old mother, Bright & Duggan told Elliav's mum that she would be brought before a tribunal and may face a £280 fine if she doesn't manage to control her son's tantrums.

Outlining the issue in official correspondence, Bright & Duggan wrote: "It has been brought to our attention that excessive noise, in the form of your child shouting and screaming, is emanating from your apartment from early in the morning to very late at night on a regular basis."

"This is disturbing other residents and as such you are in breach of the strata scheme by-laws. Living harmoniously within a strata scheme requires all occupiers to be aware and considerate of each other," the letter continued.

Taking to social media to draw the public's attention to the letter which threatens a fine, soon-to-be mum-of-two Janin vented her anger, writing: "Discrimination to the utmost! I am revolted."

Speaking to the press, Janin expressed her disgust at the position in which she and her family have been placed , explaining: "We keep the windows shut. I don’t know what else we can do. He’s a toddler, that’s what toddlers do. There are other kids in the building but they are a bit older."

Looking to the future, Janin expressed concern that the family's impending arrival will ony serve to exacerbate the 'problem', saying: "With a newborn, realistically it's going to be even noisier - that's what babies do."

Bright & Duggan's senior manager has refused to comment on the matter on privacy grounds.
