In light of the recent spate of alarming incidents at daycare centres, you would think that having a livestream into your child’s preschool would be a comforting thing.

However, one mum in the States learned that awful things can still happen, even under the watchful eye of parents and guardians.

When Monica Kendrick was informed that she could check in on her 17-month-old son via a livestream of footage from his preschool classroom, she decided to take advantage of this handy service.

She was, however, left shocked recently when she watched an assistant teacher spray air freshener into the faces of two young children, including her tot.

Horrified by the scene she had just witnessed, Kendrick left work and went to the school to bring the incident to the administrator’s attention. Once there, the administrator told Kendrick: “I can confirm that she did spray the children in the face and we told her that she couldn’t do that anymore.”

While Kendrick has now taken her child out of the school, she is not happy with how management has handled the situation, and she wants to warn other local parents about what is going on there.

After learning that the teacher in question was already under scrutiny for waking up a child using her foot, Kendrick is now urging the Department of Family and Child Services to investigate the incident.
