Sadly, there is a multitude of stories out there documenting how parents have been shamed for the silliest of reasons, but we’re glad to see that this mum came out victorious after her recent ordeal.

Two women were asked to leave an Idaho restaurant this week after delivering a scathing note to a neighbouring diner, accusing her child of 'ruining' their meal.

Katie Leach was enjoying a family meal when her 10-month-old son did as pretty much every 10-month-old child does – he began making noise.

Recalling the incident for local media, Katie said: “He will yell when I tell him ‘no’, when he’s super excited and happy, or just for no reason at all. He was not yelling to be mean or because he was mad – it was purely from excitement and being happy.”

However, two female diners apparently didn’t care for the noises the tot was making, and about halfway through dinner they approached Katie’s table. Without uttering a word to Katie and her family, the women slammed a piece of paper down on the table and walked back to their own.

The note read: “Thank you for ruining our dinner with your screaming kid. Sincerely, the table behind you.”

While she need not have extended the courtesy, Katie approached the women to explain the situation. The diners, however, merely scoffed at Katie’s explanation, insisting that their grandchildren never behaved as her son did.

Katie had the last laugh in the end, however. After explaining the situation to the restaurant’s manager, the women were told that once they finished their meal they would be required to leave the establishment quietly, without bothering Katie and her family.

Not only did the manager apologise to Katie over the despicable note, but her family’s entire meal was paid for.
