When our children are sick or going through a traumatic ordeal, it’s our natural instinct to do everything in our power to help them through it. This is something that Jamie Dawn Beckstead knows only too well.

Jamie’s daughter, Faith May, recently underwent surgery to remove a brain tumour that was pushing down on her optic nerve and damaging her pituitary gland.

In order to complete the surgery, doctors had to shave off a section of Faith’s hair, and she was left feeling understandably self-conscious after the procedure.

Feeling for her daughter in her predicament, Jamie decided to do something truly heart-warming – she shaved her own head in the exact same location as Faith’s.

A friend of the family sent the story over to the team at Love What Matters, hailing Faith as a ‘superhero’ – and Jamie as the ultimate sidekick!

“Every superhero has a sidekick who picks them up, dusts them off, and makes them feel stronger than ever…In true sidekick fashion, Faith’s mum…went home during a shift swap and came back looking just like Faith!” wrote the friend.

As you can imagine, Faith and Jamie’s story has been touching hearts all over the world since being shared on the popular Facebook page – and rightly so.

We’re wishing Faith all the best with her recovery.
