When you are shopping with kids, the last thing any mum wants is to be stuck behind a person who has to count out a load of change at the register; we all just want an in and out job that gets the task done quickly.

 

However, one mum from Indianapolis was given a rude awakening of the importance of kindness and patience while shopping with her three kids recently.

 

Explaining how she had collected her little ones from school, one of them sick, she decided to pop into Target to pick up a few things. Wanting to get  out quickly, she found a line that was short and popped her items on the conveyor belt, only to realise there was an elderly person ahead who was insisting on paying for each item separately.

 

It was here that she witnessed something truly wonderful and, even though she was in a hurry, she felt obligated to seek out a manager to highlight the cashier’s treatment of the old lady, because he was so kind.

 

She took to Facebook to share her experience, writing that she learned a very valuable lesson that day.

Finishing up the post, she wrote: 

 

"And although my timeline for target was askew, when he was finished I pushed my cart through the store trying to find the manager. I wanted her to know of the employee's, kindness and patience, and how much it meant to me. After tracking her down and sharing the story with her, we left Target with a cart full of consumable items, but what is more a heart full of gratitude for such an invaluable lesson."

 

What a wonderful young man.
