Anyone who has lost a loved one will know just how important anything and everything associated with that special person becomes. You can imagine then, just how devastated Elaine Bowens is, after losing a precious bracelet given to her by her late husband, Pa.

Mum-of-two Elaine lost the gold and diamond bracelet while out shopping in Athlone last Tuesday, March 29, and is pleading with anyone who may have found the treasured item to return it to her.

In an emotionally-charged letter sent in to Today FM’s The Anton Savage Show, Elaine explained just how much the piece of jewellery means to her, as well as details of these past few tough years.

Elaine was diagnosed with a brain tumour back in August 2014, and finished her treatment in May of last year. Just as the family were starting to get some semblance of normality back in their lives however, Pa passed away in a ‘freak accident’ while erecting lights at his mother’s funeral, last October.

“Obviously, my whole world has been turned upside-down, and I’m totally devastated. I’m trying to keep going and be positive for our two young boys,” she wrote.

On the day that she lost her bracelet, Elaine visited Golden Island Shopping Centre, Athlone Town Centre, and Woodies. She has shared a photo of a bracelet similar to her own, and has asked anyone in those areas to keep an eye out for her treasured possession.

We sincerely hope that Elaine will be reunited with her bracelet.
