When a loved one is hurt or injured, it affects the entire family on every level, and the kindness of strangers can be life-changing and inspiring.

This was truly the case for Erika Clayworth Stevenson, a mum-of-three who has shared an emotionally-charged ‘thank you’ with the Good Samaritan who surprised her injured husband.

In a post shared with the Love What Matters Facebook page, Erika explained that, a little over a year ago, her husband fell off a ladder and sustained a spinal injury.

Erika’s husband was badly injured, to the point where the family feared he may never walk again – but, incredibly, his mobility came back, and he now walks with canes.

The father is still going through intensive therapy and rehab, however, as Erika explained: “He has started working out at the Walnut Creek Y, and unbeknownst to us, another Y member observed his hard work and learned a little bit about his journey.”

This member, whose identity is still unknown to Erika, was obviously touched by her husband’s ordeal and took the opportunity to do something selfless and amazing for him.

“This generous person paid for my husband to have 20 sessions of personal training through the Y. Friends, this was a $1,000 gift,” she said.

Whether or not this stranger knows exactly what this means to Erika, her husband and their family, they soon will after her heartfelt message of gratitude went viral.

“I don't know who you are, but I hope this reaches you somehow. I am stunned. Can't even type this without tears. You have blessed my husband... You have blessed my entire family with this amazing gift. Thank you, a million times,” she added.

We can barely hold back the tears for this one!
