As celebrities such as Ryan Reynolds and Dan Osborne will tell you, not everything you post about your child on social media will be welcomed by your followers, and one Arizona mum has learned that all-too well this week.

Rachael Lee Farmer has split opinion on her Facebook page, after posting a video of her 19-month-old daughter scaling a rock climbing wall – with no harness or protection.

The video, which has been shared over 24,000 times around the world, carries the caption: “I’m glad others enjoy watching kids climb as much as I do. She’s 19 months here. The wall is vertical to start and transitions into a slab towards the top. I had to drag her out of the gym today, even after an hour of play she still didn’t want to stop climbing!”

While many of Rachael’s followers are incredibly impressed with her daughter’s skill in scaling the wall, others have hit out, criticising her for allowing her little one to climb without a harness or protective helmet.

People have been asking for a new climbing video that has more diversity in the movement... well, the Little Zen Monkey...

“I’d feel better if she had a harness,” wrote one follower, while another questioned the lack of safety gear.

However, Rachael responded to both, insisting that her daughter is “perfectly safe”, while a friend also attested to Rachael’s devotion to her daughter and respect for safety procedures.
