A pregnant woman whose husband died just after finding out that he was going to be a father, has moved the world to tears with an emotionally-charged gender reveal.

Britt wed Chris, a soldier serving in Afghanistan, last October. This past summer, she FaceTimed him to reveal some life-changing news: he was going to become a father.

Just weeks later, however, tragedy struck. Chris, 25, passed away when his convoy was hit by an explosive, on August 2.

Britt’s entire world came crashing down around her, but she had to stay positive for her unborn child.

While many of us would be consumed with grief after such a tragedy, Britt couldn’t help but think of Chris’ ‘brothers’ – his fellow soldiers – who were also coming to terms with life without him.

“I’m dealing with a lot, and grieving; but I got to take work off and go to counselling, but they didn’t get to,” she told ABC News.

Britt ‘didn’t want them to be forgotten over there’, so she decided to do something really special: a gender reveal with a twist.

“I asked if they’d like to be the first to know the gender, and they were really excited,” she explained.

“I told them I would ship confetti poppers or something, and they could be the first to know and feel included.”

As a heart-warming YouTube video revealed, Britt made good on her promise, sending a big confetti cannon over to the soldiers. They proceeded to blast it open – and pink confetti rained down everywhere. IT’S A GIRL!

Chris’ ‘brothers’ dedicated their video and celebration to the fallen father-to-be.

“We are happy to welcome the new member of our company. Like and share if this makes you feel as good as it made us feel,” they wrote.

The reveal has, as you can imagine, gone viral across the world.

We’re thinking of Britt and her family at this time.
