Those loved ones who have passed away are on our minds each and every day, but we tend to feel their absence the most during those big occasions where we know they should be right by our sides.

 

This is something that photographer Ashley Frantz knows all too well, and she decided to do something very special for her friend Amanda who recently got married, two years after losing her daughter.

 

Amanda’s daughter, Azalee, was just six years old when she lost her battle with cancer, and she passed away before she even had the chance to meet her mum’s new husband, Chip.

 

Needless to say, Azalee played a significant role in the couple’s wedding day, with the newlyweds releasing butterflies into the sky in her honour.

Knowing how much Amanda wished her daughter could have been with her on her big day, Ashley decided to do something truly special – she created a unique mother-daughter wedding photo just for her.

 

Describing it as “one of the most beautiful and difficult pictures” she has ever made, Ashley used an old photo of Azalee to create a stunning image of her in Amanda’s arms at her wedding.

 

Since being shared to Facebook two days ago, the stunning photo has received over 82,000 likes and many more shares.

 

We’re sure that Amanda will treasure this precious photo.
