It’s not the first time that she has had to hit back at cheap shots about her relationships, but things took a turn for the worst recently, when Atomic Kitten singer Natasha Hamilton’s son was dragged into the criticism.

The mum-of-four shared her anger and frustration today during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning, revealing that her eldest son was recently verbally abused by other children shouting the ‘4x4’ slur at him.

This despicable term – which Katie Hopkins once fired at the devoted mother – is a reference to the fact that Natasha has four children by four different fathers.

The 33-year-old is mum to 13-year-old Josh, with Fran Cosgrave; 11-year-old Harry, with Gavin Hatcher; five-year-old Alfie, with Riad Erraji; and one-year-old daughter Ella, with Ritchie Neville.

Natasha recounted: “Only two days ago, my son was sat on a school bus and was being shouted at…they were saying, ‘Your mum is a 4x4.’”

“As an adult, I have to put on my armour and get on with it. But now it’s trickling down,” she added, sadly.

Natasha went on to appeal to parents watching to teach their little ones to be kind to others, and to think before they comment on someone else’s family life.
