If your child is a fan of video-sharing app Vine, but you worry that they may be exposed to inappropriate content, then this new app may be right up your street.

Twitter has launched a new version of the hugely popular app which is aimed specifically at children, thereby ensuring that all content is child-friendly and age-appropriate,

Vine's Carolyn Penner reveals that the launch of the new app came after a colleague expressed an interest in the development of a child-friendly version.

Discussing its conception, Carolyn said: "The idea came about during an office conversation in early January. One of my colleagues was talking about how much his two-year-old daughter loves Vine- he said he wishes there was a separate app she could use to more easily watch posts that are appropriate for kids."

The chosen clips for the new app include animals, aliens and Sesame Street character, Elmo.
